The Simulated Battle Ball v1.0, conceived by Professor Samanea, is a customised Pokéball based on Exp. Share technology that combines neural interface and dream induction technologies to simulate battle experiences in the dreams of Pokémon for safer and more efficient training. However, long-term usage lead to negative effects, particularly in Pokémon with intense battle instincts or deeply internalised fears. These Pokémon end up mentally and emotionally distraught, some even transforming into aggressive entities known as Berserk Pokémon.
In the absence of Professor Samanea and the Route 5 Day Care Ranch staff, efforts are being made to counteract the effects of the Berserk Pokémon phenomenon at Silph Co. HQ with an entire department devoted to the restoration of these unfortunate Pokémon.
