Kenji Toriyake
The Fury from Fuchsia. Kenji Toriyake cuts a powerful figure in this years Elite Four Challenge. From his first public appearance, calling out Kiba of the Fuchsia City Gym, online chatter was abuzz with adulation for the ‘rogue with a heart of gold’.
This paired with the recently reported tragic loss of his brother in a training accident has endeared him to the forums and a decently high ranking in the polls for favoured trainers.
Felix Kenzo
Phoenix Kenzo! Felix has undoubtedly had a turbulent time in Kanto, however this has not diminished his fiery spirit for battle. Fan forums often insist that Felix has the perfect blend of his fathers innovation and his mothers propensity for battle. Whatever the case may be, his kind heart, determination and humble personality have won over the trainer fan forums wholesale.
Timmy Winsmore
The Streetza Savant. Timmy Winsmore arrived in Kanto to compete in the Beginner’s Cup but was unfortunately disqualified due to a brief bout of pneumonia and a minor head injury acquired through his heroic actions in saving others from the sinking of the S.S Anne. Rumour has it that Apple has also been working towards being a gym leader himself but he has emphatically denied this.
Apple has recently been seen with a teenage protégé who aids him in his field research, this obnoxious teen often refers to the Professor as a “complete square”, despite this the two have been inseparable since meeting in Goldenrod City.
Professor ‘Dunsparce’
Real name unknown, this enigmatic Professor has an unparalleled knowledge of the world and the Pokémon species therein. Preferring to let the validity and strength of his findings speak for themselves, he maintains a strict code of anonymity among the Pokémon League officials and amongst his fellow Professors.
His ever present custom crafted mask is modelled after the humble Dunsparce, a Pokémon which he is seldom seen without.
While his research has never proven to be inaccurate he has been embroiled in some controversy during his tenure due to his ardent research into the ‘Emergent Phenomena’ Pokémon which have been hypothesised since the year 2000 but never officially catalogued. Despite many attempts at interviews Tō has declined to give statements to the media about the whispered rumours of an unusual illness found only in those from Lavender Town.
Kiba
Kiba, ‘The Mixologist’, the leader of Fuchsia City Gym. Rarely seen at the gym he is instead found most often at many of the neon-lit, decadent pubs, restaurants and waterfront cocktail bars on the newly constructed Fuchsia Promenade. Lupita Hernandez
Lupita Hernandez met Jose Hernandez at an auction where they were in a bidding war for a bushel of berries until Jose noticed who he was bidding with and rescinded his bid in exchange for a date with Lupita and the rest was history.
Lupita is a certified accountant and manages the finances of the businesses. On the surface, she seems to be a submissive housewife working in her husband’s business to show support but in reality, much like a queen of old, she is the one doing most of the work running their winery while Jose is away and carries most of the workload. The submissiveness is mostly just an act to accommodate her husbands innate desire to be a strong patriarch for the Hernandez family.

When days stretched out like plains to the horizon

Of outcomes that could come from chance arising
The guilt is mine, I’ll take the consequence
Truth needs no more your pain to prove its sense”

He recently took part in the annual Beginner’s Cup in Vermillion City but did not make it to the semi-finals. He has since made a name for himself by being featured in the very first article of the Chatty Chatot.
Recently, Olivier was seen teaming up with other young prodigy, Alicia Hernandez, to take on the Vermillion Gym.
Internet chatter speculates a fierce rivalry with Francois Chevalier however his recent expulsion from the Kalos Battle Institute means this rivalry must now move from the schoolyard to the streets.
Alicia Hernandez
Not much is known about Alicia Hernandez save that she is a fierce battler and has a driven, type-A personality. If you see her Phanpy you’ve caught her in a good mood, if you see her Tauros you should probably run.
She was previously pipped to be a contestant in the Vermillion Beginner’s Cup but for reasons unknown decided not to show.
Alicia recently acquired the Wingnut Badge from Vermillion City, last seen heading to Lavender Town to “see what all this fuss is about”

Makani Keiko
One time contender for the title of Champion in Alola and founder of the international Pokémon Welfare Organisation. Keiko is often cited as the prototypical standard of excellence among Pokémon trainers. His reputation for even handed and fairly meted out justice as a champion for the rights of abused Pokémon is well known to members of the Pokémon Ethics League, InterPol and the Pokémon League.
Despite his earnest and eager personality there are some who express concern that Makani has spent too long at the forefront of welfare for abused Pokémon and his experiences are wearing down his once jovial and easy going nature.
Leonard Blackwood
Leonard Blackwood, older brother to Arty Blackwood, was present on the S.S. Anne when it sunk in the Vermilion Harbour. His brother was due to appear in the Beginner’s Cup. During the assault on the vessel by the Retro Rocket members the two of them were below decks. When the ship was struck by Team Retro Rocket the engineering deck buckled and began to flood. In the chaos, in the dark, and under the thunderous roar of water flooding through broken bulkheads, Arty was lost forever to the depths of the ocean.
Devastated by the loss of his brother and burdened by guilt, Leo’s grief transformed into a burning desire for vengeance. Through painstaking investigation, he uncovered the truth about Retro Rocket’s return and began a dangerous and violent mission of revenge.
Sheldon Takahiro
A driven young man from Unova where he attended the Striaton School of Pokémon. Recently travelled to Kanto to take part in the Indigo League. Some rumours persist this is due to his feeling slighted for not receiving an invite to the Beginner’s Cup event however Sheldon has repeatedly denied this.

Care and Hospitality
Kenny Takahashi
“The owner of the Vermillion Pokemart and tech repair store. And nothing else. No sir, no elite hackers here.” -FissionChips
Nurses
“After the retirement of the Joy Program the Pokémon League of Ethics determined that the best way to maintain Trainer/Pokémon cohesion while observing the welfare of Pokémon and was to return to the tried and true methods of medical aid administered by an unaltered, registered nurse. (But if that’s true why do they all still have pink hair? I’m telling you, they never closed the program they just renamed it)” -FissionChips
Organisations
Team Restoration Rocket
Team Restoration Rocket, a collection of repentant former Team Rocket members. They seek to balance their past transgressions with acts of kindness and have since set up an array of Pokémon Day Care Ranches across Kanto and Johto. These reformed individuals use their second chance to provide love and support to desperate and abandoned Pokémon. They have allied themselves with Mr. Fuji’s compassionate protégés from Lavender Town, enhancing their outreach and impact. Shadowed by guilt and remorse, they see their mission as a form of healing. Despite their best intentions, it is strongly suspected that traitors loyal to Team Rocket continue to lurk within the ranks, potentially jeopardizing the Redemption Rocket mission.
Looker Bureau
The Looker Bureau, situated in the heart of Lumiose City, is a Private Detective agency dedicated to maintaining law and order. This bureau is led by the enigmatic ex-InterPol Detective Looker and aims to solve mysteries and tackle crimes that threaten the realm of Pokémon and trainers alike.

InterPol are known for dealing with significant incidents such as those involving prominent criminal organisations. Their tasks often involve investigations into serious crimes and infiltration of criminal syndicates. InterPol is always recruiting as their turnover rate is one of the highest in any industry. The hours are long and the pay is insufficient but justice is it’s own reward. Allegedly.
The Fabled Pokémon Society
A well renowned and well funded organisation which splintered from the original Pokémon Fan Club. The Fabled Pokémon Society consists of zealous Pokémaniacs driven by a fascination with ‘Legendary’ Pokémon.
This group of enthusiasts indulges diverse ideas regarding these legendary entities and harbours sometimes misguided hopes of making monumental discoveries.
The Society adopts a hierarchical model for its members based on their knowledge depth, significant findings, and overall contributions. This allows for possible upward mobility, with titles such as Lorekeepers, Mythologists, or Legendary Scholars attributed to distinguished members.
To fulfil the shared dream of finding ‘Legendary’ Pokémon, the Society organises research expeditions to sites of potential significance. These targeted locations vary from historical ruins to hidden caves, from sacred grounds to uncharted terrains, in hopes of evidencing or encountering these elusive Pokémon.
Team Retro Rocket
The Outline
A splinter cell of the original Team Rocket who are looking to bring back the glory days of the past, they’re a mafia like organisation who hero worship Giovanni and think of Silver as a prodigal son. They seemingly emerged from nowhere with rare Pokémon and prototype technology. Team Retro Rocket have rapidly become a shadow looming over the Kanto region.
Leader Delta
A veteran of the original Team Rocket, he led the Lavender Tower raid in 1996 with Koichi and Vincent under his command. Delta is also known, infamously, for the Marowak massacre during the same incident. Later, he revived Team Rocket under a new banner, Team Retro Rocket, he leads their efforts to reclaim control over Kanto. A growing number of online commenters in the Kanto/Johto region have mentioned being approached by someone matching his description, offering them the opportunity to wield powerful Pokémon beyond measure.
Admin Stratos
No nonsense and hard nosed. Lucia worked with Koichi at the Day Care Ranch as a fellow Retro Rocket infiltrator. During an altercation with Koichi, who was seemingly trying to leave Team Retro Rocket, the argument escalated into an explosive Pokémon battle that reduced the Ranch to splinters and cinders. Admin Stratos demonstrates a much less restrained killer instinct than her compatriots. She generally prefers the company of her Pokémon over that of other humans.
Admin Jetstream
Enigmatic and mysterious, Jetstream doesn’t often speak and when he does he commands attention. Despite his fierce loyalty to Delta he has never revealed his face to any member of Retro Rocket. Easily the most crafty member of Retro Rocket with advanced training in the arts of the shinobi. Not to be underestimated.
Admin Nimbus
The scientific lead of Retro Rocket, Nimbus is behind the worst of the experiments, including the genetic and chemical experiments on Abra’s, the attempts to recreate and upgrade the Simulated Battle Ball technology that Retro Rocket got their hands on, integrating SBB tech into the stolen Silph Co. turret pseudoballs and attempting to rework old Team Rocket and Team Snagem technology to utilise against trainers.
Even experts are perplexed by her style of programming, considering it the work of either a lunatic or a genius.
Vincent
Despite not being a fully fledged member of Team Retro Rocket Vincent was still a keen participant looking to earn himself an Admin title. His role mostly involved doing their dirty work such as providing a catastrophic distraction aboard the ill-fated S.S. Anne and attempting to wrest control of the Diglett’s Cave Underwater Waterway from Silph Co. sponsored Pokemon Expedition League encampment. Unfortunately, before his plans for Adminship could come to fruition he was caught by Detective Ashikaga of InterPol and his deputised trainers. Vincent decided to walk away from Retro Rocket and turn informant once Ashikaga offered to do anything within his power to aid his beloved Rhydon in recovering from his grievous wounds.
Despite his rough nature and violent actions he cares deeply about his Pokémon and is working with Silph Co. to undo the damage of the SBB. However whether this is out of genuine remorse or as a means of reducing his sentence is yet to be seen.
