Journalism – Speaking with the Dead

Four minutes ago, I am sitting sitting at my desk, wondering how to put together this article on the tapestry, on the bizarre events unfolding across Kanto, on how it’s starting to feel more and more like 1996 all over again. The rain beats a steady drum patter against my windows, I am on my eighth cigarette of the hour and it’s only quarter past one in the morning. My phone chimes an alert, I’ve received something.

The contents of the email nearly knock me out of my chair. Embedded within the email are many text files, pictures and most interesting, a recording of two conversations, the first is between a group of trainers and a self-proclaimed avatar of a dead god of a forgotten universe, the other is between the very same trainers and a man who has been dead for almost twenty years. The conversation happened less than an hour ago.

A False Start

The full conversation between the avatar, known now as Myron, is a long and bitter listening experience. Until I can corroborate this story further I will save my commentary. Save for saying that if it’s true, it sheds an unfavourable light on my perception of the world. More to follow.

Victims

Perhaps the most damning evidence of all found in the presented files is the revelation that the Lavender Fourteen, thought to have vanished in an instant, were in fact the victims of an experiment gone horribly wrong and and upon their return, were kept as prisoners of scientific research for the duration of the time they were presumed lost in the ether. Alongside this, there’s a tacit admission of using force and influence to keep these prisoners from speaking publicly about their internment by Fukushima. Which leads me to my next entry.

Fukushima

Lavender town is no stranger to odd rumours and mysterious happenings, I struggle to reconcile this with the idea that the spirit of a man who vanished without a trace decades ago, Fukushima’s personal yacht capsized off the coast of Fuchsia City in 2002, his body was never recovered, is now terrorising those who venture into the sealed off sub-basement of the Lavender Tower. There’s no doubt in my mind, the man who features in these recordings is none other than Haruto Fukushima, ex-Silph Co. figurehead, a man who is undoubtedly still alive.

This full audio will soon be published but first, at the behest of the sender, I am working to sufficiently obfuscate the voices of the trainers involved in a manner which cannot be undone, he tells me this of the utmost importance and I believe him. For now, I have secured and scrubbed the following clip.

This serves only to raise more questions. Where has Fukushima been all this time? What are his intentions for Kanto? What are the links between his family and the oils found at the Yamatai dig sites?
